Every year, students shift to Delhi for their UPSC preparation. Preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination in Hindi medium comes with its own set of challenges. Finding the right coaching institute is one of them. While many institutes offer Hindi classes, is that alone enough to make the right choice? Not really. A good coaching institute should do much more than teach in Hindi. It should provide quality study material in Hindi, experienced faculty who can explain complex topics in simple language, regular current affairs updates, Mains answer-writing practice, proper test evaluation and individual mentorship. Familiarity with standard UPSC sources is equally important.
When it comes to UPSC preparation, Delhi naturally comes to mind. From Karol Bagh and Old Rajinder Nagar to Mukherjee Nagar and South Campus, the city has several institutes catering to civil services aspirants. However, their approach to Hindi-medium teaching can be quite different. While some run dedicated Hindi-medium batches, others follow bilingual teaching methods or offer Hindi study material alongside their English-medium program. So, which institutes are worth considering?

Should Hindi-medium students switch to English?
The best medium is the language in which you feel comfortable reading, understanding concepts, thinking clearly, and expressing your ideas. UPSC preparation involves a lot of reading and answer writing, so choosing English just because it seems more beneficial may only add to your difficulties. However, if you are preparing in Hindi, don’t ignore English completely. Many useful books, government reports, international publications, and official documents are available in English. Being able to understand them will help you explore more resources and make your preparation stronger.
